June 7th: The tournament kicks off with registration at 5:00 p.m. Located at the picturesque KOA Sugarloaf Key, this is where the excitement begins. Enjoy appetizers and quench your thirst at the cash bar as you mingle with fellow anglers.

Prize-Winning Potential: The largest dolphin over 50 lbs. will reel in a whopping $20,000! But here’s the catch – this prize is exclusive to the first 50 boats that register. So, don’t miss your chance to claim this bounty.

Entry Details: Secure your spot by registering your boat for $500. This entry fee includes a banquet for four if you sign up before May 31st, 2024. After that date, there’s a small additional fee of $50. Hurry, as spots are limited!

Entry fees: $550 (reduced donation of $500 per boat if received in the Chamber Office no later than May 31, 2024), which includes up to 6 anglers per boat & Sundays Dinner & Award Ceremony for up to 6 anglers per boat. Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce Dolphin Tournament Official Rules & Info

Dinner Fees: Additional Social Passes for Awards Banquet Sunday June 9th, 2024, are $25.00 donation per person.

Registration: No entries will be accepted after the conclusion of the mandatory Captain’s Meeting, Friday, June 7, 2024, at 7 pm at KOA Sugarloaf Key 251 State Rd 939, FL 20.

Tournament Type: The 30th Annual Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce Dolphin Tournament is a Boat Tournament. To be eligible for prizes, each fish must be entered for official weigh-in at the weigh station at KOA Sugarloaf in the presence of the angler who caught the fish.

Eligible Anglers: NO CHANGES OR SUBSTITUTIONS ARE PERMITTED with the exception of the Captain if he is not fishing. This is a BOAT tournament. Everyone is invited. Tournament directors and Weigh Masters are not eligible for the $20,000 insurance prize. Only anglers on the first 50 Boats to register in the Open Division are eligible for the $20,000 insurance prize. The Chamber reserves the right to refuse any entry.

Fishing License: All participating anglers must possess a valid Florida Saltwater Fishing License, where required.
Captain’s Meeting: Friday, June 7, at 7 pm, at KOA Sugarloaf, all participating captains must be present. The rules of this tournament may be amended verbally or in writing during the meeting. Captains are responsible for communicating any rule changes to their anglers.
Equipment: All equipment, including lines, must follow IGFA rules. If using braided lines, the manufacturer’s stated br

Eligible Fish: Dolphin is the only species of fish eligible for cash prizes. All fish presented for weigh in must be in fresh edible condition and caught that tournament day. No mutilated fish will be accepted. Fish must be weighed

on the day they are caught. Once the fish takes the bait and the reel is engaged the Angler is the only one who can touch the rod and reel line and the double line. Anyone on the boat may touch the leader and gaff the fish.

Eligible Water: Anglers are only allowed to fish in the waters off the Florida Keys. (Key Largo to Key West)

Weather Conditions: Boat Captains are ultimately responsible for their equipment and crew and should make the decision as to safe sea conditions.

Polygraph: All winning Anglers may be subject to and must pass a polygraph test. Any person aboard the winning Angler’s boat may also be subject to and must pass a polygraph test. Refusal to take the test or using any drugs or alcohol to pass the test, will result in disqualification with no refund.

Tournament Hours: “Lines-in” at 7 am on both tournament days. Weigh-ins for the tournament are from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, and on Sunday, June 9th, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. You must be in line to weigh your fish before the scales closing time ends for that fishing day.

Protest: Any protest concerning the conduct of an angler or rules violation must be filed in writing with the tournament committee the day of the alleged violation, no later than the end of the weigh-in time for that day. A $100 cash deposit must accompany each protest. All decisions of the rules committee are final.
Ties: In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the time the fish was weighed in

Each Boat is eligible for only ONE prize from each of the above categories, except for catching a Dolphin exceeding 50 lbs. for the grand prize of $20,000 with the exception of youth. First Place Angler can win the potential cash prize of $20,000 with Dolphin weighing over 50 pounds. IGFA rules will apply throughout the tournament with line class up to & including 80 lb. test line. Prize money is based on 35 boats registering for this year’s tournament. The Chamber
reserves the right to change the prize money if fewer than 35 boats register.
