Tim Hortons Unveils First-of-its-kind Pop-Up ‘Boat-Thru’ on Ontario Lake

Serving morning coffees to boaters, no land trip required!

Picture this – the beautiful Lake Scugog, part of the magnificent Kawartha Lakes chain in central Ontario, a paradise for cottagers and boaters, and now home to the world’s first-ever Tim Hortons ‘boat thru.’

Canada’s Favorite Coffee Chain Makes Waves

Lake Scugog, with its scenic granite shores similar to the nearby Muskoka, is buzzing with activity. It’s becoming a haven for boaters. The recent uptick in activity has caught the attention of Canada’s largest coffee chain, Tim Hortons, which is launching a unique ‘boat thru’ concept this weekend near Port Perry.

Get Ready for Refreshing Boat-Thru Beverages

The pop-up location is all set to serve free cold beverages including the Caramel Toffee Cold Brew. Vanilla Iced Latte, and the fruity delights of Blackberry Yuzu and Orange Ginger Sparkling Quenchers. The only rule – you must arrive by watercraft, be it a powerboat, canoe, kayak, or paddleboard. There’s a limit though – a maximum of six drinks per boat, ensuring the love is spread around!

Making Summer Memories Last

Hope Bagozzi, Tim Hortons’ chief marketing officer, said in a statement, “The quintessential Tims Run is a cherished Canadian summer tradition. With our summers being so fleeting, we wanted to ensure that our guests on Lake Scugog wouldn’t miss out on any of their precious time on the water. So we decided to launch our first-ever Tims Boat-Thru.”

Boat-Thru Meets Regatta Fun

Coinciding with the 93rd annual Lake Scugog Regatta, the ‘boat thru’ will provide the perfect pit-stop. For attendees of the regatta and other boaters on the lake. Along with grabbing a refreshing drink, participants can also enjoy the regatta’s fun-filled activities. Like a watermelon eating contest on Saturday, a fishing tournament on Sunday. Then swimming and kayak races, and the main event, the Lake Scugog Championship Sailboat Race.

The ‘Boat-Thru’ Details:

The Boat-Thru is scheduled to operate on August 5th and 6th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Beacon Marina. Located at 3 Marina Dr. in Caesarea, just a stone’s throw away from Port Perry.

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow?

Sadly, the pop-up ‘boat-thru’ is only here for the weekend. But who knows? If we boaters show them the value of such an inventive venture. We might just convince them to make it a permanent feature (because we think it’s an absolutely brilliant idea).
